India, Myanmar, Thailand, Java, Cambodia, Indochina, Sumatra, Laos, Vietnam.
Diagnosis
A distinctly marked brown species close to Tabanus monotaeniatus Bigot but distinguished in having small size; palpus yellow with numerous black hairs, ending in obtuse apex; frontal callus broad with extension not attenuating; thorax with indistinct grey stripes; legs and antennae red; wings grey, tinged with brown on fore border as far as 2nd longitudinal vein; abdomen with broad very distinct median stripe and two white spots on either side of second abdominal tergite.
