Distribution
Common and widespread in India, Formosa, Malayasia, Vietnam.
Vector
It is a vector of Anthrax, Bacillus anthracis (Rao & Mohiyudeen, 1958)
Diagnosis
Medium sized fly (10-12 mm), predominantly black with white scutellum. Head with subcallus shining black, basal callus rectangular, frons slightly diverging towards apex. Scutum black partly grey and black, scutellum white. Abdominal tergites black with posterior margins of tergite 1 and 2 white. All femora, tarsus black; tibiae pale.
